Dr Nicholas Shoung is an Endocrinologist dedicated to providing evidence-based care and working with patients towards a personalised approach to their health. He enjoys all areas of Endocrinology, and has a special interest in pituitary disease, adrenal disorders, type 1 diabetes and insulin pumps, type 2 diabetes, obesity and thyroid disorders.
Nicholas has returned to Sydney Endocrinology after completing a Master of Public Health at Université Paris Cité and a research thesis in the Department of Nutrition (Obesity) at Hôpital Européen Georges-Pompidou in Paris, France.
He completed a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at Griffith University, receiving the ‘Doctor and Health in the Community’ award and the ‘RACGP Kenneth Dalgliesh’ award as the top-ranking student in both subjects.
He undertook Endocrinology specialist training at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital (QLD) and Princess Alexandra Hospital (QLD) before moving St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney (NSW) to complete his training as the Pituitary Fellow.
In his spare time, Nicholas enjoys playing tennis and basketball, and loves cooking including making pasta from scratch.
